(SHERWOOD) – An incident in Branch County led to the arrest of a man.

Michigan State Police were called to investigate a domestic disturbance in Sherwood. Further investigation by troopers found the suspect had injured himself and then fled on foot.

A K-9 officer was called to the scene and after a successful track, the suspect was located in a nearby field and taken into custody. The individual was taken to Promedica Coldwater Regional Hospital to be treated for a self-inflected injury.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Life Care Ambulance assisted troopers.
