(PENN TOWNSHIP) – Three people were arrested following an incident Saturday in Cass County's Penn Township.

Sheriff Richard Behnke says his department received a call at 5 PM Saturday that two subjects entered a residence in the 19,000 block of Hoffman Road and got into a physical altercation with the home owners. Another subject was there and started to pepper spray the homeowners.

Once the call to the Sheriff's Department was made, the subjects ran from the home.

K-9 Officer Faust was called to the scene and attempted to track the suspects. After a 4 and a half mile track, the suspects were located and tried to flee the area. They were captured after a short chase.

A 19 year old Edwardsburg man and a 30 year old Niles woman were taken into custody on charges of resisting and obstructing police, and aggravated assault. A third subject who was at the scene was arrested for having outstanding warrants.

All three are being held in the Cass County Jail pending their arraignment in District Court. The case is still under investigation.
