(STURGIS) – Trinity Lutheran School in Sturgis has received some money that will be used to help in the classroom.

Trinity Principal Paul Kosman says the school is a winner of one of ten Burlington Stores' Adopt My School Sweepstakes Grants. The grants were made possible through the national retailer's partnership with Adopt A Classroom dot org. Anyone age 13 or older had the chance to nominate a school of their choice for the opportunity to win one of ten $10,000 supply grants. Over ten thousand nominations were submitted.

Representatives of Burlington presented the check to Kosman during an assembly Wednesday morning.

Kosman says Trinity teachers will use the funds on a number of new classroom items including books, art and physical education supplies; technology, and a variety of other items that will supplement their lessons.

He says the teachers look forward to using the funds to enhance learning in the school. He says Trinity Lutheran is thankful for the support and honored to be a winner.
