(WAYNE TOWNSHIP) – One person was sent to the hospital following a single vehicle crash.

The Cass County Sheriff's Department says 63 year old Dennis Bacon of Dowagiac was driving east on Marcellus Highway near Flanders Street at 4:22 PM Wednesday. His vehicle left the roadway, striking an embankment and then coming to a stop in a field.

Bacon was taken by a private vehicle to Ascension Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries. He was wearing a safety belt.

The incident is still under investigation.
