LaGrange Co. Commission Extends Emergency Declaration To July 6
By: Mike Stiles - Wednesday, June 17, 2020

(LAGRANGE) - The LaGrange County Commissioners voted once again to extend their emergency declaration.

During Monday's meeting, County Attorney Kurt Bachman presented a recommendation to extend the emergency declaration. Bachman says the County will continue to operate under the last extension of the declaration. That means County buildings and offices are open, but with limited number of citizens allowed on each floor at any given time.

Employees who are able to are encouraged to continue working from home. Employees will be available to the public by phone, email, or appointment.

Commission President Larry Miller says with the increase in the number of cases of COVID-19 in LaGrange County recently, and not knowing what the future will hold, extending the declaration is a good thing.

The Commissioner voted unanimously to extend it to their next meeting on July 6.
