12 New COVID-19 Cases In Southwest Michigan

(UNDATED) – Health officials say there were 12 new COVID-19 cases Monday afternoon in Southern Michigan.

St. Joseph County has 10 new cases of the coronavirus, according to the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency. That means 216 people have tested positive and there have been 3 deaths in the county.

In Branch County, there were no new cases of COVID-19. 236 residents have the virus and there have been 2 deaths. There were no new cases of coronavirus in Hillsdale County. 172 people have tested positive for it and there have been 25 deaths.

The Michigan Department of Corrections says there were no new cases of coronavirus at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater. That makes 39 staff members and 793 inmates who have tested positive. There have also been 23 inmate deaths.

In Cass County, there were 2 new cases of COVID-19. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says there are now 111 people who have been diagnosed with the virus, and there have been 4 deaths in Cass County.

Around Michigan, 179 new coronavirus cases were reported, making 61,409 people who have tested positive. There were 7 more deaths reported, which means 5,853 individuals have died from COVID-19.
