White Pigeon Rotary Awards Five Scholarships

(WHITE PIGEON) – The White Pigeon Rotary Club presented scholarships to five recent White Pigeon High School graduates during the club's June 24 meeting.

Stone Kemp received the Roger Bakeman Scholarship for service. He plans to attend the University of Michigan. He has not declared a major, but is interested in studying physical therapy or exercise science.

Reyna Fieles, Melissa Hayden, Blossom King and Claycee West all received the Rotary Academic Scholarships.

Fielis will attend Glen Oaks Community College where she will study art and business marketing before transferring to a four year institution. She also plans to continue on with her music career.

Hayden will study elementary education and minor in special education at Bethel College. She plans on joining the track team and will compete in the discus and shot put.

King is going to attend Trine University where she plans to study pre-law, and will be a member of the Trine bowling team.

West will be going to Taylor University to study exercise science and play basketball.

Each student is receiving $750 to be used toward their education with half of the support provided at the beginning of the school year and the remainder will be given in December.
