(POKAGON TOWNSHIP) – An Edwardsburg man has died from the injuries he received in a one vehicle crash.

Cass County Sheriff Richard Behnke says his department was called to investigate a crash at 7:35 PM Sunday in Pokagon Township. Deputies determined that 27 year old Aaron Marquardt was driving north on Barron Lake Road, just south of Pokagon Highway, and went through a curve.

Marquardt lost control of his vehicle, colliding with a utility pole. His automobile then went airborne and rolled over several times.

Marquardt was flown from the scene to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries. He later died at the hospital.

It's not known if Marquardt was wearing his seat belt, and the crash remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were the Pokagon Tribal Police, the Pokagon Fire Department, the Howard Township Fire Department and the SMCAS Ambulance Service.
