Whitmer Says Nothing About Businesses Reopening

(LANSING) – Many people thought that Governor Gretchen Whitmer may announce information about some businesses being able to open back up.

But all Whitmer said during her Wednesday press briefing when asked if businesses such as movie theaters, bowling alleys and gyms could open was more would be said later. ...... {LISTEN}.

Another question asked to Whitmer was on a recent story that Michigan High School Athletic Association officials had said that high school football could still be played this fall, if the Governor would lift of modify Executive Order 160. Whitmer offered this response. ...... {LISTEN}.

Following the Governor's press conference MHSAA Executive Director Mark Uyl issued a response. Uyl says the MHSAA has been in constant contact with the Governor's office seeking answers and directions for fall sports, expressing the urgency for these decisions on behalf of their member school students, staff and families.

Uyl says this direct communication will continue and the MHSAA will take Governor Whitmer at her word that decisions will be made and shared with everyone very soon.
