(POKAGON TOWNSHIP) – Two people were injured in a two vehicle crash Thursday morning.
The Cass County Sheriff's Department says 19 year old Victoria Ruggle of Sodus, Michigan was driving on Peavine Street in Pokagon Township at 8:40 Thursday morning. Deputies determined that Ruggle failed to yield the right of way at the intersection of M-51, and was struck by a south bound vehicle, driven by 87 year old John Sypudt of Dowagiac.
Ruggle sustained minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. She was transported to an area hospital by a personal vehicle.
Sypudt was not hurt, but his passenger, 80 year old Beryl Sypudt was taken to the hospital by Pride Care Ambulance.
Everyone was wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash, which is still under investigation. The Pokagon Township Fire Department assisted deputies at the scene.
