Suzanne Crouch Presents Broadband Grant Funding

(ANGOLA) – Indiana Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch was in Angola Wednesday to present checks to three companies.

The companies will use the funds to enhance and provide broadband internet to many throughout Indiana who live in rural communities.

Trine University hosted the press conference Wednesday morning at the T. Furth Center. The grant money came from the Next Level Connections Broadband Grant Program. Crouch explains the need for internet access across Indiana, and the economic impact it could have on Hoosiers. ...... {LISTEN}.

The grants given out represent $425,000 of State money and $525,000 of private sector money. But Crouch says the Next Level Connections Grant program is providing so much more. ...... {LISTEN}.

Lakeland Internet received $30,830 to bring high speed wireless internet to up to 40 households in Angola for the Pine Canyon subdivision. Eastern Indiana WiFi received a grant for $283,739 which will bring fixed wireless to Grant County. Mercury Wireless received $110,040 to bring fixed wireless to Whitley, DeKalb and Allen Counties.

The Next Level Connections Broadband Grant Program is part of Governor Eric Holcomb's Next Level Connections infrastructure program. It's designed to promulgate access to reliable and affordable broadband service to all areas of Indiana.
