(COLDWATER) – The case of a Branch County man is now moving on to Circuit Court.

Branch County District Court officials say that 28 year old Travis McCann waived his preliminary hearing, and the matter has now been bound over to Circuit Court.

McCann was arrested following an incident on November 12. Michigan State Police were called to a house in the 900 block of West Colon Road in Matteson Township at 12 AM. A female resident says a family member, McCann, came to the house unannounced and was mad she had her boyfriend there.

The woman went outside to tell McCann to leave. He started to, then stopped and allegedly threatened to kill the woman and shot a gun in her direction as well as the house. In addition to the boyfriend, there were also two children in the house. No one was injured.

McCann left the area and was arrested a short time later in LaGrange County, Indiana on unrelated charges. A firearm and suspected drugs were found in the vehicle during the stop.

Court officials say McCann is facing charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, aggravated stalking and felony firearms. A charge of assault with intent to murder was dropped by the Branch County Prosecutor's Office.

Court officials also say McCann's bond of $100,000 was revoked after jail personnel discovered that he tried to contact the victim through another individual.

A pre-trial conference has been scheduled for February 1.
