Michigan Leaders Say COVID Numbers Starting To Decline

(LANSING) – Michigan leaders say it looks like the number of COVID-19 cases are starting to go down across the state.

During a Tuesday afternoon media briefing, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Chief Medical Executive Dr. Joneigh Khaldun shared that two of the three indicators State officials look at in tracking COVID-19 have been going down. ...... {LISTEN}.

Khaldun says the third indicator is the number of tests coming back as positive, which is also decreasing. ...... {LISTEN}.

However, Khaldun did say some of the numbers are still alarming. There are now 437,985 total cases of COVID-19 in Michigan and there have been 10,752 deaths. Khaldun says Michigan needs to keep following the guidelines of wearing a mask and washing their hands frequently to keep these numbers moving downward.
