New Branch County Commissioners Sworn In

(COLDWATER) – A swearing in ceremony was held recently for Branch County Commissioners who will be starting new terms.

Newly elected to the Commission is Tim Stoll of Sherwood. He will serve the First District, which is made up of Union, Sherwood, Butler and Girard Townships along with the Villages of Sherwood and Union City. Stoll replaces Terri Norris on the Commission.

Also being sworn in is Jon Houtz. He finished out the final six weeks of Ted Gordon's term, after Gordon moved to St. Joseph County. Houtz previously served on the Branch County Commission and was defeated in the 2016 Republican Primary. He will serve District 4, with is Coldwater City Wards 1, 2 and 3.

In addition, Tom Matthew will be serving a full term as a Commissioner. He was appointed in November 2019 to finish out Don Vrablic's term as the District 3 Commissioner, after Vrablic moved. The Third District is made up of the Village of Quincy along with Ovid, Algansee, Kinderhook and California Townships and Quincy Township Precinct 1.

Also being sworn in for new terms are incumbent Commissioners Leonard Kolcz and Randall Hazelbaker. Kolcz is beginning a third term as the District 2 Commissioner. District 2 is made up of the City of Bronson along with Matteson, Batavia, Bronson, Bethel, Noble and Gilead Townships.

Hazelbaker represents District 5 on the Commission. District 5 consists of Coldwater Township and Coldwater City Ward 4 along with Quincy Township Precinct 2.

The new terms begin on January 1.
