(GARRETT) - Indiana State Police say they have identified the body of a man found Tuesday in Garrett.

Investigators say the man is 30 year old Michael Dale Griffith of Charleston, West Virginia. An autopsy was conducted Wednesday at the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center in Fort Wayne. It identified the cause of death as blunt force trauma, however Indiana State Police Detectives are still investigating the actual events that caused the trauma, which remains unknown.

Griffith's body was found Tuesday afternoon near the railroad tracks near Taylor Road.

Assisting in the investigation are the Garrett Police Department, CSX Law Enforcement, the Steuben County and DeKalb County Coroner's Offices and the DeKalb County Prosecutor's Office.
