(PARK TOWNSHIP) – A Three Rivers man was arrested after leading authorities on a chase.

St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark Lillywhite says his department tried to stop a vehicle for speeding just after 1 AM on December 31 on U.S. 131 near Michigan Avenue in Park Township.

The suspect drove away from deputies and entered the City of Three Rivers. He abandoned his vehicle on Seventh Street and tried to run away. Deputies, along with the Three Rivers and Constantine Police Departments, found the man and took him into custody.

He is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding, possession of methamphetamine, outstanding warrants and for traffic violations.
