(ANGOLA) – Authorities say an Angola woman was flown from the scene of an accident after the vehicle she was riding in struck a semi.

The Steuben County Sheriff's Department says the crash happened just after 9 AM Tuesday. A pickup, driven by 26 year old Raymond Parks of Kendallville, was going north on County Road 600 West. Investigators say Parks failed to stop at the intersection of U.S. 20 and hit a semi that was heading west. After striking the semi, the pick up rolled over.

Deputies say 53 year old Marion Pocock of Angola had to be removed from the pick up by rescue personnel. She had multiple injuries and was flown to a Fort Wayne Hospital by Samaritan Helicopter. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Parks and the semi driver were not hurt.

Assisting deputies at the crash site were the Angola Police Department, Angola Fire Rescue, Fremont Fire Rescue, Indiana State Police, Steuben County EMS and Steuben County Communications.
