Plenty Of Events For Thanksgiving

(UNDATED) – Thanksgiving is a time to spend with family and friends.

If you are looking for events to do other than eating, the community is invited to attend the joint Thanksgiving Eve service put on by St. John's Lutheran Church of Burr Oak and St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Colon. It will be tonight at 7 PM at St. John's, located at 218 West Main Street in Burr Oak.

The service will feature several time honored Thanksgiving hymns and a message from Pastor Kurt Kuhlmann. If you are can, please bring a non perishable food item which are being collected to distribute to three Burr Oak families in need this holiday season.

If you plan on being out tonight and possibly drinking, the St. Joseph County Transportation Authority is offering free in county rides from 7 PM until 2 AM. These rides may be requested to the establishment and home, or from home to a party. Only legitimate St. Joseph County addresses will be acknowledged.

If you live in the Sturgis, Colon and White Pigeon areas you can call 269-244-0766 for a ride. For those who live in the Three Rivers, Constantine and Mendon areas, you can call 269-244-0946.

Looking for something to do before dinner on Thursday? You can participate in the Beast Before The Feast Turkey Trot Family Fun 5K Run or Walk. It starts at 9:30 AM in Constantine at the Sweetland Stadium main gate. If you can, please bring a non perishable food item for the Constantine Food Bank.
