By: Mike Stiles - Thursday, January 17, 2019

(GILEAD TOWNSHIP) – Tuesday's slippery driving conditions played a part in a two vehicle collision in Branch County's Gilead Township.

Michigan State Police from the Coldwater Detachment say 47 year old Sharon McMeen was driving north on Steffey Road at 9:30 AM when she failed to stop at the intersection of Southern Road. Her vehicle was struck on the passengers side by a semi driven by 50 year old Chad Paul of Algansee Township.

McMeen was injured in the collision and taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital for treatment. Troopers did not say if Paul was injured or not in the incident.

McMeen was given a citation for violating the basic speed law.

The Bronson Fire Department was also sent to the scene along with Life Care Ambulance.
