Area teams, individuals advance to D-4 CC State Finals

(PORTAGE) – Some area teams and individuals are moving on to the Division 4 Cross County State Finals after solid performances at the Division 4 Regional meet at Portage West Middle School. In the girls race, White Pigeon came in third and advances to the State Finals, while Burr Oak was sixth. Mendon didn’t have enough runners to qualify for a team score. White Pigeon was paced by Rachel Schelstraete who finished 17th (23:34) and Jamielynn Delarye who was 20th (24:20). Individually, Presley Allen of Mendon was second (20:16) and teammate Rowen Allen was sixth (20:53). They both move to the D-4 State Finals as individuals. Burr Oak’s Braylyn Hernandez was 28th (25:30) and Linda Ultz was 32nd (25:59). In the boys race White Pigeon was sixth and Colon eighth. Mendon and Colon didn’t have enough runners to qualify for team scores. Mendon’s Ben Iobe finished fifth individually (16:54) Teammate Kyron Christner was 15th (18:41). White Pigeon’s Jesse Fielis came in sixth (17:26) while Aiden Jackson was 28th (19:40). Gavin Minor of Colon was 36th (20:18) while Dalton Williams was 38th (20:20). Iobe, Christner and Fielis move on to the D-4 Individual State Finals.
