Authorities Say Kendallville Woman Dies From Injuries In Crash

(FORT WAYNE) - Authorities have identified the driver who died Thursday after a collision near Fort Wayne's Swinney Park.

The Allen County Coroner says the driver is 27 year old Mikaela Forker of Kendallville.

According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, the crash happened around 8:23 AM Thursday in the 2300 block of West Jefferson Boulevard. They determined that Forker's vehicle veered onto the opposite side of the road and struck another automobile head on.

Forker had life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital where she later died. Her cause of death is being ruled as multiple blunt impact injuries and her death is being ruled as accidental.

The other driver was initially trapped in their vehicle but was rescued by first responders and only suffered minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
