(BRONSON) - The Bronson Board of Education has selected an individual to finish a partial term.

Monday night the Board interviewed three people for the vacant position: Frank Barker, Dennis Sikorski and Kristen Carpenter.

Each candidate was asked several questions by the Board.

After the interviews, the Board of Education discussed the candidates and then voted unanimously to have Barker take the seat.

Barker is a longtime resident of the Bronson community, and has spent his entire career serving Branch County. He currently serves as Deputy Chief of Police for the Bronson Police Department and brings more than 30 years of experience in law enforcement, including roles as an officer, supervisor, and administrator.

Barker will serve in the seat vacated due to the resignation of Jordon Houtz. The seat will be up for election in November 2026. Barker says he will run for the seat this Fall.
