Michigan Unemployment Rate Unchanged In March

(LANSING) - Michigan's March seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was unchanged from February.

The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget says the unemployment rate remained at 5% for the fifth consecutive month. Employment receded by 13,000 over the month, while the number of unemployed people remained unchanged.

Michigan professional and business services sector demonstrated the largest employment increase in March, with jobs advancing by 4,000. Leisure and Hospitality had an increase of 2,000 jobs during March, following nine consecutive months of declining payrolls.
