(EAST KENTWOOD) - The Sturgis track teams were in action at the East Kentwood Invitational, with the Lady Trojans finishing 17th and the boys 23rd. For the girls Sydney Bir was second in the 400 meters and seventh in the 200 meters . Berkley Holtz was fourth in the 1600 meters. Juliet Mendoza-Rangler finished ninth in the 300 meter hurdles. In the boys events, Caleb Hohn was third in the 400 meters and set a new school record in the event at 49.27 seconds, and qualified for the MHSAA State Meet. Gavin Lewis took sixth in the shot put. Lance Hubbard was sixth in the discus. Benjamin Morales was tenth in the 800 meters. Darren Speelman was tenth in the 300 meter hurdles.
