Sturgis Teachers Have New Four Year Contract

(STURGIS) - Teachers with Sturgis Public Schools have a new four year contract.

During their June 15 meeting the Sturgis Board of Education unanimously approved the deal.

Sturgis Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert says the contract runs from 2026 to 2023. There will be a 3% increase in salary in both 2026 and 2027, and then a 2.5% increase in 2028 and 2029. Ebert says in addition in 2026, salaried employees with get a $1,000 bonus while hourly employees will receive $500. (LISTEN ABOVE).

Ebert also shared that the contract will include a curriculum rate increase for staff. There is also a tuition reimbursement clause to help teachers who are taking classes for continuing education.
