(STURGIS) - There's plenty to see and do this afternoon and evening as Sturgis Fest continues in the downtown area.
The car cruise in will run from 4 until 7 PM. This year, the event will be in the GT Independence parking lot at the intersection of John and North Streets.
In Free Church Park, the Hispanic Heritage Celebration will be taking place from 4 PM until 7 PM. Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kari Hatt says there will be food and craft vendors along with live music. Hatt says this is a great way to introduce people to the Hispanic culture.
The Electric Parade, which normally starts at dusk, has been moved up and will start at 7 PM for 2026. Sturgis Director of Public Safety Ryan Banaszak says the decision to start earlier was due to the City still picking up from the June 11 storm and with several large limbs and piles of brush on the terraces around Sturgis. Banaszak says he wasn't comfortable with people walking home in the dark, so the decision was made to move the parade start time to 7 PM.
This year's Grand Marshall for the parade is Eliot Gittleman.
