The Colon American Legion is holding an all-you-can-eat fish fry on Friday, January 30th at the Legion Hall in downtown Colon. Ocean Perch will be served from 5:30 until 7:30 P.M. Cost is $8.50 for adults and $4.00 for children 5 to 10. Carryouts for fish only will be available after 6 P.M.

Glen Oaks Community College, in conjunction with the school's 50th anniversary in 2015, will have a 50th Birthday celebration on Saturday, January 31st at the Glen Oaks gym off Shimmel Road in Centreville. A special ceremony will be held between the women's and men's games (approximately 2:30 P.M.) that afternoon vs. Kalamazoo Valley C.C. There will be a banner raised for legendary Glen Oaks coach, athletic director and professor Ken Schuler. The Vikings will also induct the inaugural class into the Glen Oaks Athletic Hall of Fame! There will also be a party on the concourse after the men's game.
