LaGrange Commission Recommend Wage Freeze For 2021

(LAGRANGE) – LaGrange County Commissioners recommended a wage freeze in 2021 for all county employees.

During Monday's meeting the Commission discussed the matter of what to recommend to the County Council. Commissioner Terry Martin says the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting what, if any kind of recommendation they should make to the Council. ...... {LISTEN}.

Commission President Larry Miller says every year the Commission recommends a three percent wage increase. But the actual amount comes down to what numbers the Council has to work with at the September meeting.

Commissioner Dennis Kratz suggested freezing the wages for the upcoming year, with Miller adding to it. ...... {LISTEN}.

The Commission voted 3-0 to make that recommendation to the County Council. The Council will take up the matter of wages during a future meeting.
