(STURGIS) – A situation on the south side of Sturgis Thursday afternoon ended without any injuries.
In a media release, Sturgis Interim Director of Public Safety Ryan Banaszak says officers were sent to the 500 block of South Clay Street at 2:19 PM after receiving reports of a person who barricaded himself in a house and was armed.
Officers contacted the person by telephone and talked them into peacefully exiting the home.
The individual was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Banaszak says criminal charges are not anticipated at this time.
