(JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, IN) – A two car collision sent two people to the hospital.
The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says 44 year old Liubov Kozak of Goshen was driving south on State Road 19, north of the eastbound U.S. 20 ramp at 6:47 Saturday night. A second vehicle, driven by a 59 year old Nappanee woman, was heading north on State Road 19, south of the ramp.
Deputies say Kozak turned her vehicle east to enter the ramp, entering the northbound lane in the path of the second vehicle. Kozak's front bumper collided with the front bumper of the second vehicle, causing heavy front end damage to both automobiles.
Kozak complained of pain in her legs and was taken to Elkhart General Hospital. The other driver was also taken to Elkhart General Hospital with chest and neck pain.
Kozak was given a citation for failing to yield the right of way causing bodily injury.
