(BURR OAK TOWNSHIP) – Burr Oak Township will wait another month to decide if they will allow marijuana based businesses to operate in their jurisdiction.

During Monday's meeting, the matter was brought up again by the Board. Township resident Matt Craven has been working with the Board on getting his business operating.

Burr Oak Township Supervisor George Letts says the Township has three options they must decide from. ...... {LISTEN}.

Several members of the community came out in support of Craven, complementing him on being a local individual who wants to own and operate a business in the place he calls home. Craven also spoke about how money from his business would go back to the community in the form of tax revenues.

The Township Board voted 3-2 to have attorney Lance Thornton look into what the Township can do to allow these types of businesses to operate and bring back an ordinance and a proposal.

The next Burr Oak Township Board meeting is scheduled for July 12.
