Suspect Arrested For Making Threats Against Cassopolis H.S.

(CASSPOLIS) – A suspect is in custody after making threats towards Cassopolis High School.

Cass County Sheriff Richard Behnke says on Sunday, a tip was received by his department's tip line, that revealed an individual was making threats of violence at the school. A similar tip was received by the school district.

Behnke says his department and school officials investigated the threat and identified the subject. A strong and visible police presence was positioned at the school Monday morning and the subject was detained for questioning.

Statements and information obtained both Sunday and Monday led to the arrest of the suspect on charges of terrorist threats. He is currently being detained in the Cass County Jail. His name has not been released, pending his arraignment in Cass County District Court.
