Lawton Man Killed In Two Vehicle Crash

(FABIUS TOWNSHIP) – One person is dead following a two vehicle crash in Fabius Township on Monday.

St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark Lillywhite says his department was called to investigate a two vehicle accident on M-60 near Youngs Prairie Road. Deputies determined that a 77 year old Lawton man was driving north on Youngs Prairie Road and ran a stop sign at M-60. His vehicle struck a westbound truck driven by a 43 year old Constantine man.

The Lawton man was in critical condition and was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo by Three Rivers Ambulance. When he arrived at the hospital, the man was determined to be dead.

The Constantine man was not injured. Both men were wearing the safety belts.

Assisting deputies were the Three Rivers Fire Department, the Fabius and Park Fire Departments and the Constantine Police.
