(COLDWATER) – A plea agreement has been entered into by a Bronson man and the Branch County Prosecutor's Office.
Branch County Circuit Court officials say during a pre-trial conference on Monday, 76 year old Leon Verrill plead no contest to two charges of second degree criminal sexual conduct, along with a count of third degree criminal sexual conduct. With the pleas, Prosecutor's agreed to dismiss two charges of first degree criminal sexual conduct.
Verrill was arrested following an investigation by the Bronson Police Department and the Michigan State Police into crimes committed between 2015 and October 2021. The alleged victim was 8 years old when she was first molested.
Verrill is scheduled to be sentenced on January 9. The plea agreement calls for Verrill to be given concurrent prison sentences of between 5 and 15 years.
