(FLOWERFIELD TOWNSHIP) – Authorities have released more information on their search for a missing woman.

St. Joseph County Undersheriff Jason Bingaman says his department has been investigating the disappearance of 73 year old Marilee Furlong from her daughter’s home on Flatbush Road in Flowerfield Township around 9 AM Monday.

On Monday, deputies searched the area with the assistance of the St. Joseph County Mounted Patrol, the St. Joseph County Reserves, the Michigan State Police Canine Team and Michigan State Police Aviation, along with the Great Lakes Drone Company. However, Marilee was not located.

On Tuesday, Bingaman says the Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of local fire departments, several volunteers and the Southern Michigan K-9 Search and Response Unit from Branch County continued looking for Marilee. The canines were searching west from the residence into Cass County, south of Marcellus.

St. Joseph County detectives are working with their counterparts in Cass County to canvas the area.

Marilee was last seen wearing red long-sleeve pajamas. However, she could have changed into a red and pink plaid button up shirt with a green undershirt and blue jeans. Marilee is believed to be wearing gray and blue sneakers and carrying a brown leather purse.

Marilee is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, 120 pounds with long gray hair and hazel eyes. She has Alzheimer’s and Dementia and it’s unknown where she may be heading.

Bingaman is requesting that anyone in the area with cameras that have footage of an elderly woman matching Marilee’s description to contact St. Joseph County Dispatch at 269-467-4195.
