(THREE RIVERS) – Two men accused of robbing a Three Rivers bank in February are now in custody.

On February 3, Three Rivers Police Chief Scott Boling says his department was called just before 11 AM to the Sturgis Bank Branch in the 100 block of North Main Street on a report of a bank robbery.

When they arrived, officers determined the suspects had left the scene. A K-9 officer was called in and lead police to a nearby parking lot where it is believed the suspects got into a vehicle and drove away.

Boling sent out descriptions of the suspects: a medium complected black man, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 210 pounds, and a light complected black man, six feet one inches tall and weighing 250 pounds.

A description of the vehicle they were seen in was also sent out.

Boling says using their automated license plate reader system, his department was able to track the suspects across the state line, and they were arrested by authorities in Indiana on charges unrelated to the bank robbery.

They are awaiting extradition back to Michigan.
