(BETHEL TOWNSHIP) – An electrical short was the cause of a mobile home fire in Branch County’s Bethel Township.

Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber says his department was called out to 540 Kosmerick Road at 8:47 PM Thursday for a structure fire. Crews arrived and found flames showing on the exterior of both sides of a single wide mobile home.

The blaze was eventually put out. Damage estimates stand at $20,000 for both the property and contents. No injuries were reported. The fire department was on scene for 2.5 hours and used 2500 gallons of water to extinguish the fire.

Wilber says there were no working fire alarms in the dwelling.
