(KENDALLVILLE) - Six people were hospitalized Monday afternoon following a head-on collision.
According to the Noble County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened at 3:01 PM on State Road 3 just north of Airport Road.
A southbound SUV driven by 55 year old Jamie Gayheart of LaGrange crossed the center line for an unknown reason and struck a northbound car head one.
Gayheart was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center with facial injuries. A passenger in his vehicle, 29 year old Lacey McDonald of LaGrange, had to be removed from the vehicle and was flown by helicopter to the hospital with facial injuries.
Two children in the Gayheart vehicle, ages 2 years and 4 months, were transported by ambulance to the hospital with minor cuts.
The driver of the car, 21 year old Kyler Gause of Kendallville, and a passenger, 19 year old Meyah Kilgore of Wolcottville, were also taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities say none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening. The crash remains under investigation.
