(CENTREVILLE) - Glen Oaks Community College has signed eight new articulation agreements with Western Michigan University.
The agreements will strengthen academic pathways for students pursuing careers in health care, education and social services.
They will also provide a seamless transition for Glen Oaks students completing Associate Degrees to transfer into related Bachelor's programs at Western Michigan University in the following areas:
College of Arts & Sciences: Biochemistry, Biology and Biomedical Science, Chemistry and Psychology.
College of Health & Human Services: Health Administration, RN to BSN, and Social Work.
College of Education and Human Development: Industrial Technology Education.
Heather Killgore, Glen Oaks Career and Transfer Coordinator, says these new agreements reflect the schools' ongoing commitment to student success and regional collaboration. She says by aligning Glen Oaks' programs with those at Western Michigan University, they are ensuring that students can transfer seamlessly, stay on track to graduate and pursue meaningful careers without losing time, credits and money.
Articulation agreements ensure that coursework completed at Glen Oaks aligns directly with the requirements of the WMU Bachelor's Degree programs, simplifying the transfer process and reducing overall cost and time to graduate.
