(ANGOLA) - More clarification is being given about what a new casino feasibility study actually covers.
The Steuben County Economic Development Corporation is offering the information after the public had lots of follow-up questions linked to the report.
As Swick Broadcasting's Charlotte Burke reports, The SCEDC's latest email clarifies that the casino study released last week was done strictly as an informational market analysis and is not a proposal or endorsement of a casino in Steuben County.
The group says the report looks at whether regional conditions could support a project like that, including market demand, projected revenue, jobs and tax estimates. (LISTEN ABOVE).
But officials now stress it does not measure full community impact, including things like infrastructure costs, housing strain, crime, or other long-term effects.
The SCEDC says those questions would require additional study if the process moves forward.
