(DEKALB COUNTY) - Two people were hurt Saturday afternoon after blowing snow and slick roads caused a head-on collision on State Road 1.
It happened just after 3:25 p.m. in the 6600 block of the highway. Police say the driver of a southbound Kia Telluride lost control in heavy snowfall, crossed the center line, and slammed into an oncoming Ford Escape.
The driver of the Ford and a passenger were taken to a nearby hospital. The Kia driver wasn't hurt.
Both vehicles suffered major front-end damage. Authorities are reminding drivers to slow down and use extreme caution as winter weather continues to impact travel.
