(NEWBURY TOWNSHIP) - A Sturgis woman was involved in a two vehicle crash that took the lives of two people.
Indiana State Police say the incident happened Tuesday just after 3 PM in LaGrange County's Newbury Township. The initial investigation shows that a buggy, occupied by 75 year old Marvin Shrock and 74 year old Ruby Shrock, both of Shipshewana, was heading east on the shoulder of U.S. 20 near County Road 1000 West.
For an unknown reason, a Ford dump truck, driven by 20 year old Gael Reyes of Sturgis, drifted onto the shoulder and hit the buggy.
The Shrocks were pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Indiana State Police Critical Incident Reconstruction Team.
