(SHIPSHEWANA) - Minor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle crash.
The LaGrange County Sheriff's Office and the Shipshewana Police Department responded to the crash at the intersection of U.S 20 and State Road 5 in Shipshewana at 10:45 AM Tuesday.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a Shipshewana Fire Truck was traveling north on State Road 5 with their emergency lights and sirens activated. The fire truck approached the intersection of U.S. 20 without yielding to the red stop light in the southbound lane, and collided with a semi heading east.
The driver of the fire truck, Jay Yoder and one passenger, Loren D. Schwartz, were taken to Parkview LaGrange Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The driver of the semi, Ronald Brown of Helena, Ohio, was not injured in the crash.
