(MATTESON TOWNSHIP) - A Colon man was killed in a one vehicle crash in Matteson Township.
Branch County Sheriff Fred Blankenship says his deputies were called to the area of Colon and Whitmore Roads at 4:36 AM Friday.
Deputies determined that a car was on Colon Road west of Whitmore Road, and went off the roadway, striking a tree on the south side of the road.
The driver, a 30 year old Colon man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Assisting deputies were the Bronson Fire Department, the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office and Life Care Ambulance.
