(STURGIS) - It's been a slow turnout so far today for voting in Sturgis in the Primary Election.
Sturgis City Clerk Ken Rhodes says it's been slow all day and will continue to be slow into the afternoon and evening hours. Between 700 and 800 people turned in their ballots before Election Day, so they won't be coming to the polls. Rhodes says there was also early voting in Centreville, which has added to the reduced crowds at the polling locations. (LISTEN ABOVE).
Even with all of the absentee ballots and early voting, Rhodes says he anticipates having all of the numbers tabulated and the election workers home before it gets too late.
Polls will be open until 8 PM today.
