(VICKSBURG) - Bronson City Manager Brandon Mersman is one of four people being considered for the Vicksburg Village Manager position.

During their meeting August 17, the Vicksburg Village Council agreed to interview the four finalists.

Frank Walsh of Walsh Municipal Recruiters was hired by Vicksburg to help them with their search. He says the four candidates are a good group of individuals.

Walsh says there was a lot of attraction towards being the next Vicksburg Village Manager. He says there were over 20 applications sent in, which was narrowed down to six that he presented to the Village Council, who then selected the final four. Walsh says these four individuals have a lot of experience, enthusiasm and a lot of passion for local government, making them a great group of candidates. (LISTEN ABOVE).

The other candidates are Erik Wilson, former City Manager of Wayland; Amy Cordes, Lawrence Village Manager; and Christopher Tapper, the former Decatur Village Manager.

The Vicksburg Village Council agreed to interview the four candidates on September 1 starting at 4 PM.

Mersman has been the Bronson City Manager since 2015.

Current Vicksburg Village Manager Jim Miller announced he would retire December 31, 2026. He took the job in January 2016.
