(STURGIS) - The animosity between members of the Sturgis City Commission was shown again Wednesday night.
During the Commission and Staff portion of the meeting, Mayor Frank Perez read a prepared statement directed towards Commissioner Aaron Miller. Perez started with Miller not wanting to do the right thing when concerns were brought to the Commission earlier this year.
Perez says it's been seven months since Aaron and others created tis mess and shamed the community. He says Miller continues to lie and make false narratives that have caused so much damage. Perez says in April, Commissioners Miller, Jeff Mullins, Justin Wickey and Daniel Boring had a chance to do the right thing and join him and Commissioners Rick Bir, Cathi Abbs, Marvin Smith and former Commissioner Linda Harrington to look into issues brought to Perez, but he says Miller turned a blind eye and looked the other way.
Perez says by the actions he has taken, the community now knows who the real Aaron Miller is. He says that Miller is a liar, corrupt and a fraud. (LISTEN ABOVE).
Perez says he would never try to censure Miller or ask him to step down from the Commission, as Miller asked him to do.
Miller did not respond to the comments made by Perez.
