Busy weekend for Sturgis bowling teams

(UNDATED) - It was a busy weekend for the Sturgis bowling teams. On Saturday the Trojans were at the Sue Hutchings Memorial Scotch Doubles Tournament in Marshall. The team of Khara Kimes and Andrew Matz qualified for the championship round and finished third, beating a team from Coldwater 178-177 in the Consolation Finals. Also qualifying for the championship round were Brooklyn Moody and Bryce Smoker, who lost in the quarterfinals 199-187 and finished fifth. The team of Miley Holden and Josh Groff qualified for the championship round and lost in the quarterfinals 198-157 to finish eighth.

Then on Sunday the Trojans hosted their Baker Bash. The Sturgis girls qualified first with a team score of 1374. The received a bye into the finals and lost to Edwardsburg to finish second on the day. The Sturgis boys qualified second with a score of 1523 and then lost to Pennfield in the semifinals to finish third.
