
Community Engagement Session Provides Information For SPS

(STURGIS) – Organizers say the first of three community engagement sessions was a success.
Sturgis Public Schools hosted the session Wednesday at the Sturges-Young Center For The Art, with 110 people attending the event.

Greg Monberg of Wightman shared the six core focus areas that they and Sturgis Schools were looking at: Safe, Secure And Healthy Schools; Academic Student Achievement; Protecting Their Investment; Athletics; Community Use Of Facilities and Extracurriculars.
The audience took a virtual survey and then worked at their tables to give answers to questions posed by the organizers.
Sturgis Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert says that information and other feedback is being compiled and will be the foundation for the conversations and activities during the Second Session. That is scheduled for August 25 at 5:30 PM at Sturgis High School. The public is invited attend, even if you weren’t able to make it to Wednesday’s session.
