(CENTREVILLE) - Glen Oaks Community College has hired their first ever Dean of Student Engagement.
School officials are pleased to announce that Danielle Stone has been hired to fill the position. She begins her new role this week, bringing more than a decade of leadership in student development and residential life.
As Dean of Student Engagement, Stone will oversee several areas critical to campus life, including Athletics, Housing and Residential Life, Student Conduct, Student Clubs and Organizations, and serves as the College’s Title IX Coordinator.
Glen Oaks President Dr. Bryan Newton says Stone’s positive energy, deep understanding of student engagement, and commitment to inclusion make her a valuable addition to the team. He says Glen Oaks is excited to see how her leadership will elevate the student experience and contribute to student retention and success.
Before joining Glen Oaks, Stone held several student affairs leadership roles at Converse University in Spartanburg, South Carolina, including Chief Inclusion Excellence Officer and Title IX Coordinator, Assistant Dean, Assistant Director of Housing, and Retention Coordinator for student-athletes. Her work focused on strengthening campus life through student support, policy development, and initiatives that fostered a welcoming and respectful environment for all students.
Stone holds a Master of Arts in Urban Education from Union University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Florida Southern College.
She has relocated to Michigan from South Carolina and is already connecting with students across campus.
